Taking place between the 2nd and 4th of May, this race demonstrates the determination and enthusiasm we strive for at P&K Thornton Restorations. We competed in two races over the weekend, the Motor Racing Legends Pre-63 GT 1-hour race and the Motor Racing Legends Pall Mall Cup.

Read MoreAt the end of October, the P&K Thornton’s team competed in the final race of the season, the RAC Pall Mall Cup at Silverstone. After our success at the Spa Six Hours the team were feeling eager and excited for this 3-hour endurance race in our 1961 Jaguar E-Type.
Read MoreThe team at P&K Thorntons drove to Belgium at the end of September to compete in the Spa Six Hours Race. After getting the car in January as a project, we restored it and entered it into the hardest classic car race in the world. Despite a mistake in the qualifiers, knocking down our starting position, we finished in the 41st position out of 81 and came first in our class (GTS7) as we ran close to standard certifications pre-63 GT regulations.
Read MoreOur apprentice Jamie won The Simon Diffey Heritage Motorsport Apprentice award. Jamie is in his second year as an apprentice at P&K Thornton Restorations working as a ‘classic body work technician’ along with studying at the Heritage Skills Academy. The award was created in honour of the historic racing driver, Simon Diffey, who was killed in a road accident in 2022. Jamie will be receiving his award at the ceremony on the 19th of September 2024 for all his hard work and commitment to learning the trade. The award came along with many prizes including support towards gaining a racing licence and tickets for an international race. This is a fantastic achievement for our young apprentice and we look forward to continuing to work with Jamie for the foreseeable future.
