P&K Thornton 2026 Events
With an exciting new year ahead, we have even more events on offer for 2026. After the success of our open day and technical workshops, we have increased the number of events on offer, so you can spend even more time admiring our amazing jaguars and chatting to us about our work at P&K Thornton. If you are looking for something to do over your upcoming weekends, take a look at all the exciting events you can attend at our workshops in Nottingham.
If you would like to have a coffee, chat with our amazing staff and admire all our show-stopping Jaguars, attend our Cancer Research Open Days, starting from 8.30 AM. Due to the popularity of this event, we have increased the number of open days from 1 to 3! They are held seasonally, taking place on the 11th of April, the 11th of July, and the 10th of October. We are raising funds in aid of Cancer Research UK, a cause close to our hearts.
Arrival is from 8:30 AM at our P&K Thornton Workshops, Wood Farm, Spring Lane, Lambley, Nottingham, NG4 4PF. Ample parking will be available in front of our buildings, and entry to the farm will be signposted. Breakfast buns and premium barista coffee will be provided. Our experienced technicians will be on hand to discuss all mechanical aspects of our beloved classic Jaguars, and there is an opportunity to have your car lifted on the ramps for a more detailed inspection. Our site now features five busy workshops, an engine room, a modern rolling road tuning facility, and a specialist classic Bodyshop.
This year marks the sixth anniversary of hosting our Cancer Research Open Day at P&K Thornton Restorations and Alficina. This also marks the first year our new sister business, Speedshop44, will taking part in the event, bringing in a range of modern and future classics to our workshops as well, along with our British and Italian classic cars usually on display!
In addition to the Cancer Research Open Days, we are bringing back our P&K Thornton Technical Seminars, which were a roaring success last year. The exclusive event for E-Type and XK club members is taking place on Saturday, the 9th of May. Starting at 10 AM and finishing around 4 PM, the day will consist of four absorbing and informative technical sessions, with coffee/tea on arrival, and a light buffet lunch.
Technical Sessions:
· Metalwork, panels, etc. (English wheel extravaganza with in-house panel beater extraordinaire, shaping metal like you never thought possible before)
· Electrical (putting together a wiring loom from scratch, designing an electrical installation, and why we need an ECU with EFI?)
· Engines - rolling road (simple steps to build a Jaguar XK engine, pitfalls, rolling road tuning, how to run a newly built XK engine on the chassis dyno)
· Servicing/general (pre-purchase inspection tips and tricks – how and why we do it, classic Jaguar maintenance tips and tricks, ethanol fuels vs synthetic fuels – what to look out for when putting your classic Jaguar in for long-term storage).
If you have any questions about the events, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
