Spring Servicing - May 2025
As the spring sunshine returns, enthusiasts are dusting off their Jaguars and coming in for a service to make sure everything’s running perfectly for the driving season. Spring is a popular time of year for classic car owners to book in for a service now the sun is finally making a regular appearance. Booking your classic car in for a regular service helps to keep your vehicle running smoothly and protects its long-term value.
Often classic car owners get their vehicle serviced in spring because during the winter months, your Jaguar might have been sat idle or exposed to cold/damp conditions. Even minimal use on salted roads can lead to corrosion, something older vehicles are particularly vulnerable to.
A typical spring service would include an oil and filter change, brake inspection and fluid top-up/change, checking tyre condition and pressure and battery health check. In addition, a service would include a coolant and radiator check, suspension and steering inspection and air conditioning re-gas (if applicable). Spring is the perfect time to catch up on general maintenance before summer road trips and shows.
We have had a surge of Jaguars come through our workshop recently for a service including a Jaguar Mark 2, XK150 and a variety of E-Types ranging from Series 1 to 3. These British legends are wonderful but can be temperamental. They often require additional attention such as carburettor tuning, electrical system checks, brake fluid flushing, and careful inspection of cooling systems. While they’re a joy to drive, their age and character mean regular servicing is essential, especially after winter storage.
Whether you're planning scenic weekend drives or just looking to keep your Jaguar in peak condition, spring is the ideal time to get everything in order.
